2025 Summit

Over 400 transportation and urban planning leaders and practitioners dedicated to advancing transportation equity participated in the New York City Department of Transportation’s (NYC DOT) second annual Equity in Motion Summit on April 25, 2025 at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. The event fostered candid conversations in a unique, invite-only setting that brought together diverse perspectives. Attendees convened in New York City from five continents, including 16 countries and over 30 cities, to engage in a full day of programming through several plenaries, panel discussions, and workshops.

Session I: Ideate

StreetTalks

The day before the Summit, attendees were invited to participate in StreetTalks. These specially curated tours explored NYC DOT's transformative and innovative projects around the city. A variety of tours ranged in topic throughout the day and were guided by NYC DOT practitioners.

Car-Free Earth Day

Attendees were also invited to take part in NYC DOT's annual Car-Free Earth Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025. This annual event features car-free streets, performances, workshops, and fitness classes across all five boroughs. The event was open to the public and offered free programming to promote environmental protection, climate change education, and sustainable transportation.
